What to Wear With A T-Shirt

Let’s face it, t-shirt are super versatile. There’s a reason why a t-shirt is a popular item of clothing: you can wear them with almost anything for almost any occasion. But not all t-shirts are created equal! What you wear with a t-shirt depends on what sort of t-shirt it is. So let’s go through some scenarios.

Stay casual with a quirky t-shirt

If you’re dressing more casually, say a basic pair of jeans or a some shorts, you can easily pull off a more quirky or ironic t-shirt. You could also even pull off a funny or nerdy t-shirt as well! These types of t-shirts are a lot more unassuming so you have a little more freedom to express yourself. Afterall, if you’re in a casual situation, whether that be lounging at home or with close friends, why wear something too fancy?

And of course t-shirts are the height of casual. If you’re going casual go full casual with a t-shirt that’s interesting and maybe a little bit funny. It’s just a t-shirt after all!

Show some class with something simple

We think a t-shirt is perfect for any occasion, but some may disagree if it’s a little more formal. That’s not to say, though, that you can’t wear a t-shirt in a more smart casual situation. Maybe you’re wearing a half decent pair of pants and you’re going out to dinner. There’s a t-shirt for those kind of occasions too!

For the smart casual look, we like to go with a t-shirt that has a little less to the design, often just a small picture on the breast or a more understated design. A lot of these types of t-shirt fall into our totally random t-shirt collection but, being totally random, there are some more interesting designs there as well! But the beauty of a t-shirt is that you can have a solid and clean look going but still be a little interesting. That’s why we like a lot of our food t-shirt collection for that “smart but fun” look that can be hard to pull off.

You also want to take colour into account here. If you want to look a little bit sharper in your t-shirt, go with something easy like black or grey. You’ll look great.

Getting grungy

On the complete opposite end of the more smart casual t-shirt look is the more grungy t-shirt look. This is the extremely casual look whether it be ripped jeans, beach wear, or whatever you feel like wearing.

Sure, a funny t-shirt goes well here but we always think one of our hobby themed t-shirts works well – especially if it’s a music related t-shirt. Barring that, t-shirts that have to do with alcohol are also good for that super casual look too. All of these are fun and funny, but not necessarily something you’d want to wear to a job interview.

Wear these t-shirts around the house or even if you’re at a really casual venue. Don’t worry about the rest of your outfit, it’s fine.
